El Kamión de la Basura (The Garbage truck) was formed at the beginning of 2008 in the south of Alicante, and they performed their first live show in the spring of that year. Since then, the band have been growing up. Each member brought with them a different type of music which germinated the seeds of the albums they are creating today a mixed energy of Latin, Fussion and Ska music and invites reflection for personal philosophy. In 2009 El Kamión de la Basura (The Garbage truck) recorded their first album, Callejón del gato, which included their firsts eight compositions; restless and changing songs, a mix of ska, reggae, funk and rock music. They were invited to make their debut and share a stage with La Raíz, Iratxo and Saratoga, three established Spanish bands, and entered the music scene of Alicante and Murcia where they played both with other bands and took the stage on their own.

El Kamión de la Basura (The Garbage truck) continued to experiment and expand their various talents until 2013, when they brought together the first of a series of ambitious conceptual albums, which are, centred around the elements Earth, Wind, Fire and Water with an added fifth element of Movement. With input from all the band members, working with the idea that water is an essential part of our human make up, both in the physical and etheric; being a necessity central to life and so, using it as a metaphor for the need to keep renewing and retaining a young attitude in life, eventually El asesino de aquel señor barbilampiño es este niño con ojeras was recorded and released.

Soon after the album’s release El Kamión de la Basura (The Garbage truck) produced their first video clip based on the song Calzoncillos nuevos. Even though the video was recorded and edited by Verónica Teban with the participation of the actor and magician Joni Rivera from Semicírculo mágico as one of the main characters, during the summer of 2012. This clip was not launched until March 2013, after the release of El asesino de aquel señor barbilampiño es este niño con ojeras.

During the summer of 2013, El Kamión de la Basura played their new compositions and they went on the tour Del agua al fuego after which, they closed the cicle of El asesino de aquel señor barbilampiño es este niño con ojeras to increase the recordings of their future album Préndelo.

In 2014. during they were recording their future album Préndelo, El kamión de la basura also were commissioned to write and perform a soundtrack for Diles que se vayan a documentary made by the collective Periodistas 22-M (Journalists 22.M) which gave an over view of the Spanish Dignity Marches (Marches de la Dignidad) with testimony from the journalists of Spain.
